Greene County opens the Class 3A football playoffs Wednesday night in Creston vs. a Creston/Orient-Macksburg team that defeated the Rams 23-7 in Jefferson during the fourth week of the regular season. The Panthers finished in second place in District 8 while the Rams were third in District 2. That game saw both teams score of their opening possessions with long drives, but Greene County was held scoreless the rest of the contest.

The Panthers have a high-powered offense that averages 35.8 points a game while the Rams score at an average of 18.6 points per contest. Defensively, the Panthers give up an average of 25.66 points to just 17.4 for the Greene County defense. Greene County scored the fewest points of any C/O-M opponent this season while the Panthers’ offense scored the second fewest points this season when they faced the Greene County defense.

C/O-M is 4-2 against other teams that made the playoffs while the Rams are 1-4 when facing teams that made the playoff field.
