ADM Volleyball continues to prepare for its Class 4A – Region 3 playoff game against Norwalk on Thursday in Adel. The Tigers enjoyed a first-round bye on Monday, which means they last played in the regular season finale Thursday at Carroll.

To stay sharp during the week-long layoff, ADM scrimmaged several teams at Valley High School Tuesday night. The Tigers played against Urbandale, Dowling, Indianola and Dallas-Center Grimes, who ADM head coach Mary Beth Scott referred to as “the big dogs.”

“I thought we did really well,” she said. “Of course, we’re playing a lot of the big dogs, and so it’s always good go up against them and just see what we can do. I thought our serving was real aggressive. We struggled again against Dowling with our passing, which just tells us that Dowling has some excellent servers. So it just reminds us that we’ve got to buckle down and do a better job of that.”

Scott added her team tends to perform well in scrimmages, and said she wants them to treat their upcoming match with the Warriors the same way — in other words, just take the court, have fun and do the best they can without worrying about the results.

We’ll have all the action from ADM High’s North Gym on K107 and raccoonvalleyradio.com. First tip is at 7 p.m.
