The battle for Tiger supremacy was won handily by the Carroll Tigers, who dominated the visiting ADM Tigers 40-14 in the first round of the Class 3A playoffs Wednesday night in Carroll.

Carroll jumped on ADM early and often, outgaining the visitors a whopping 516-191. ADM, the No. 4 seed from District 8, held Carroll to 10 points in the first quarter, but then the District 2 champs erupted for 23 points in the second quarter to put the game out of reach after just 24 minutes of action.

Carroll senior quarterback Addison Ross powered Carroll to the big win by going 14-of-20 passing for 307 yards with four touchdowns and two interceptions, those turnovers coming after the game was already well in hand. Seniror receivers Eli Cleveland and Peyton Renning both had monster games, as both went over 100 yards receiving and had two touchdown catches.

ADM finally got on the board with five minutes remaining in the game, and it was more significant than it sounds. Frank Weiland found senior Jake Sloss down the near sideline for a 52-yard touchdown pass, Sloss’ 11th touchdown grab of the year. More notably, it put Sloss over the 1,000 yard-mark for the season in the final game of his career.

ADM finished 5-5 this season, and has been eliminated from the playoffs by Carroll two years in a row.
