First-year ADM girls basketball head coach Corey Schneider has emphasized during the preseason that athleticism is one of his new team’s best attributes. The challenge, Schneider said, is teaching the girls his new system without overwhelming them.

That challenge could be heightened by the fact that for the second straight year, ADM has a relatively young roster.

The 2013-14 team, which finished 10-12, had just three seniors on it. At least on paper, however, the production of those former Tigers looks replaceable. The three alumnae, Madi Bertman, Kendra Chapman and Haley Caney, accounted for only about 31 percent of the team’s scoring last season.

For the second straight year, ADM will have just three seniors on its roster: Jenny Wicks, Mackenzie Sutton and Emily Hoffman. The roster is rounded out with four juniors and two sophomores, pending players from last year’s junior varsity team moving up to the varsity level.

The girls’ first official practice is on on Monday, Nov. 10. ADM then opens the season on Thursday, Nov. 20 against Creston at Southwestern Community College.
