Boys’ basketball classes have been posted for the 2014-15 season by the Iowa High School Athletic Association and Greene County remains one of the smallest Class 3A programs. Coach Jeremy Hinote’s Rams are the third smallest 3A and with just four fewer students would have tied for the largest spot in 2A. The Rams have an enrollment figure of 300 that is used by the IHSAA for classification purposes. Only Centerville (298) and Mt. Vernon (297) have lower enrollment figures and are in 3A. Davis County (Bloomfield) is the largest 2A with an enrollment figure of 296.

Greene County is also a 3A program in girls’ basketball, but there are five girls’ classes for the postseason and only four classes for boys. The Rams are the 22nd largest 3A girls’ program among the 64 in that class.

Girls’ basketball practice officially begins in Iowa on Nov. 10 while boys’ BB practice starts on Nov. 17.
