Eight ADM football players were named to one of the two Class 3A – District 8 All-District teams, with another two given honorable mention recognition.

Senior Jake and Joe Sloss were two of the three wide outs on the first team. Jake finished second in Class 3A with 1,002 receiving yards, while Joe was sixth with 724. Fellow senior and center Elijah McCartney was named to the first team offensive line, while junior quarterback Frank Weiland was named as one of two first-team players in the “at large” category. Weiland was second in the class with 2,515 yards passing to go along with a 57.6 % completion rate, 19 touchdowns and 18 interceptions in his first season as a varsity starting quarterback. Senior linebacker Zach Ostendorf was the lone Tiger from the defensive side of the ball named to the first team.

Senior receiver Johnny Reel was named to the second team, along with junior right tackle Hunter Gibson and junior defensive end Jacob Hardy. Gibson was also given honorable mention recognition as a defensive linemen, and was joined by junior running back Blake Crannell, who finished as ADM’s leading rusher despite tearing his ACL in week eight against Norwalk.

District champion Dallas-Center Grimes and second-place Creston had the most All-District selections with 11 a piece. ADM and Winterset were both next with eighth. Fifth place Harlan had seven selections, followed by Atlantic’s six and Glenwood’s five.
