The last football team from Class 3A – District 8 standing fell Thursday night, as the Creston Panthers were crushed by Bishop Heelan Catholic 59-14 in a state semifinal at the UNI Dome.

ADM hung with each of the other three playoff qualifiers from the competitive district during the regular season. ADM lost to district champion Dallas Center-Grimes 7-6 in week three and to third place Winterset in week four, 16-6. The Tigers offense broke out with a 35-point performance on the road against Creston in week six, but ADM fell 50-35.

DCG and Creston each won their first two playoff games with ease, setting up a quarterfinal matchup between the two, which resulted in one of the most memorable games of these playoffs. Creston ultimately edged the Mustangs 50-49 in overtime to earn its trip to the dome.

With Creston eliminated, district coaches will soon cast votes for the all-district teams. We will pass along what Tigers are honored when the information becomes available.
