One of the neat aspects of being a high school coach is working with kids who exceed expectations.  It happens in every sport, no matter what level or age.  The Perry girls cross country team was a young squad this year and Head Coach Nathan Khrone singled out one of his athletes as being the biggest surprise of the year.

“I would have to say Hannah Roberts.  She was great to work with and showed up every day with a terrific attitude.  She is one of those girls who will do what ever run you ask and keep a great attitude the whole time.  She is only a freshman so she will be a big part of our program moving forward in the years to come.”

The Jayettes were led by a number of underclassmen including Roberts and Perry’s highest runner Grace Stewart.

Roberts will be a part of the Perry girls basketball team this winter.
