Two more winter sports officially being their seasons today. ADM boys basketball and wrestling both have their first practices, which figure to have decidedly different feels.

The basketball team, coached by Aaron Mager, will look to rebound from a subpar 6-16 season last year and shoot for a more competitive finish in the tough Raccoon River Conference. ADM wrestling, meanwhile, is coming off one of its most successful seasons. The Tigers varsity wrestling squad returns three state placers from a season ago, and head coach Just Schmauss believes his team has enough talent and work ethic to make it to the state duals tournament this season and put more wrestlers on the podium.

The Raccoon Valley Radio microphone will be on hand at both practices to bring you what athletes and coaches from both teams are saying. ADM boys basketball’s first taste of live action will come Monday, Nov. 24 in an exhibition jamboree at Woodward-Granger. Wrestling doesn’t open its season until Thursday, Dec. 4 at Ballard against the Bombers and North Polk.
