The Perry boys basketball team remained in first place in the Raccoon River Conference Friday night defeating Carroll High on the road 72-69. The Blue Jays improved to 3-0 in RRC play when Zach Roberts picked up a loose ball and fired a three-pointer just ahead of the final buzzer to win the contest for the Blue Jays. The three points were Roberts’ only points of the night and the game winner was his only shot of the second half.

Perry’s leading scorers, Shammond Ivory and Will Whiton both played with four fouls down the stretch. Ivory had 23 points and Whiton 11. Kyle Nevitt added 10 with Ryan Rathje hitting a trio of three-point goals for nine points, and Blake Lansing adding eight.

Eli Cleveland had 25 and Addison Ross 22 points for the Tigers.

The Blue Jays led by 10 points in the first half, but trailed 35-33 at intermission. Perry led 53-47 at the end of the third quarter.
