It was a busy weekend for law enforcement and first responders in Greene County.

Sheriff Steve Haupert says they responded to three separate accidents on Saturday and Sunday.  The first one was a one vehicle rollover accident on Saturday in which the driver left the scene after losing control of his vehicle on the S curves south of Jefferson.  The vehicle was a total loss and the driver was uninjured.  Haupert adds that the accident is still under investigation.

The other two accidents happened in Grand Junction on Sunday.  Both accidents involved two vehicles in which the drivers of one of the vehicles stopped at a stop sign but then proceeded into the intersection and collided with another vehicle that didn’t have a stop sign.

Damages to all the vehicles were in the thousands of dollars and the drivers that caused each accident were issued citations for failure to obey a stop sign.  Another victim was issued a citation for not having proof of insurance.

Only one person was taken to the Greene County Medical Center with minor injuries and no one else was injured in either accident.  Both accidents happened within 30 minutes of each other.
