After a quiet couple of weeks in terms of weather, the Raccoon River Valley is expected to get dumped on by snow again today.

A winter storm warning is in effect until 9pm.  The National Weather Service says snow will move into the area this morning and continue through the evening.

Snow and ice accumulations are expected to be between four and seven inches, with winds coming from the east at 10 to 20 miles-per-hour.  Widespread blowing snow is not expected though winds will likely cause some drifting snow.
