A deputy checked an abandoned vehicle that had slid into the ditch on Highway 30 near Granite Avenue. The truck was later removed from the scene.
A deputy provided traffic control while a vehicle was removed from the ditch on 230th Street and T Avenue. Slick road conditions contributed to several vehicles being in the ditch.
The Chief Deputy Sheriff assisted the Jefferson Police Department, while officers were on another assignment, with investigating a two vehicle accident at the intersection of North Vine and East Washington. A 2003 GMC Yukon that was being driven by Todd Evan Muir 51, of rural Jefferson, was westbound on East Washington when his vehicle was struck in the passenger side door by a 1999 Chevrolet Lumina driven by Debra Suzanne Curtis 28, of Carroll, Iowa. No injuries were reported, but the Muir Yukon sustained an estimated $5000 in damages. The Curtis vehicle sustained an estimated $1500 in damages and Debra Curtis was issued citations for Failure to Yield Right of Way and no insurance.
A deputy assisted a Jefferson Police Officer with a possible stolen vehicle investigation.
A deputy was dispatched to the 300 block of Irving Street in Scranton to help mediate a personal property civil dispute.
In all cases when a defendant has been charged, this is merely an accusation, and all defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
