Coach Dean Lansman’s Greene County Rams were fourth among eight boys’ track and field squads on Thursday at Carroll Athletic Field for the Tiger-Knight Relays. Carroll won with 143 points and Boone was second at 108. Atlantic had 85 with 68 by Greene County, 59 for Harlan, 53 from Denison-Schleswig, 26 for Council Bluffs Abraham Lincoln, and 13 points for Kuemper Catholic.
Senior Alex Rasmussen had the lone Greene County victory with a toss of 145′ 10″ in the discus throw. That was his only event of the night. Junior Daric Whipple was second in the 400 meter low hurdles in 57.68 seconds, his season best. Junior Max Neese was second in the 200 meter dash in 24.02 seconds, and the 4 x 100 meter relay of seniors Dylan McConnell and Dylan Hamilton, teamed with sophomore Dalton Weber, and Neese, to finish second in 44.78 seconds, a season best. The Rams 4 x 110 meter shuttle hurdle relay unit of McConnell, junior Tyler Beger, Whipple, and senior Jordan Hostetler finished second in 1:05.04.
The Rams have three events in the Drake Relays today. Senior Eme Johnson in the 100 meter hurdles, the girls 4 x 100 meter relay of Mollie Sorber, Emma Saddoris, Emily Christensen, and Olivia Hansen, the the boys’ 4 x 100 with McConnell, Weber, Hamilton, and Neese.
