Greene County won the girls’ division of the Woodward-Granger Hawk Relays on Tuesday in Woodward under nearly ideal weather conditions. Coach Kelly Simpson’s Rams had 208 points to 167 for Dallas Center-Grimes, 86 by W-G, 78 from Glidden-Ralston, and 16 points for Iowa Christian Academy/Ankeny Christian Academy.
The Rams dominated the field events with wins in all four. Hannah Onken threw 119′ 11″ to win the discus throw with a personal best. Kenna Marquardt was second at 106′ 4″, also a PR. Onken won the shot put with a season best toss of 34′ 1″ and Kayla Mobley was second at 31′ 4″. Emma Saddoris went over 16 feet in the long jump for the first time this season at 16′ 3-1/2″ for the win, and Megan Durbin set a high jump PR by four inches and cleared 5′ 4″. Nadia Fisher also had a season best at 5′ 0″.
On the track, Eme Johnson won the 100 meter hurdles in a season best time of 15.81 seconds. The Rams won the shuttle hurdle relay in a season best 108.90 with Mollie Sorber, Nadia Fisher, Sarah Sandage, and Johnson. The 4 x 400 was a winner in 4:19.61 with Hannah Stein, Johnson, Emily Christensen, and Olivia Hansen. The sprint medley ran a season best 1:56.08 with Sorber, Saddoris, Christensen, and Hansen, and the 4 x 800 was a winner in 10:44.76 with Noelle Gray, Kayla Kuhl, Chantel Flack, and Jolee Wessling.
The Rams are off until the Ogden Coed Meet on Monday, May 4.
