Funds have started to come in for Grow Greene County Gaming Corporation (GGCGC) and the non-profit organization has determined how they are going to allocate money to different groups and organizations.
GGCGC President Norm Fandel says they will give part of their five percent adjusted gross revenue from Wild Rose Jefferson to the cities in Greene County, along with the schools by next fall, with funds to be distributed to the Greene County Community Foundation and the contiguous counties by spring of 2016. Fandel talks about the agreement that GGCGC and the surrounding County Board of Supervisors came to last week about what organization will receive funding.
“Big question was if the Supervisors, within those counties, felt like the community foundation (for the respective county) was the appropriate entity to give those funds to. They certainly agreed with us. They appreciated the fact that we would be going that direction.”
The negotiated agreement between Wild Rose and GGCGC was that nine-tenths of a percent of the five-percent adjusted gross revenue would go to the contiguous counties. The annual projections are a total of $1.5 million for the non-profit gaming license holder to allocate, which Fandel points out, they won’t receive the full amount until next fall, since the casino opened this past July.
Fandel adds that GGCGC is finishing its guidelines and applications forms for organizations to start applying for funding by the end of this year.
