Everyone in Greene County is encouraged to donate to this year’s Lots of Socks fundraiser, sponsored by RSVP 55+.

People can donate socks or money to the sixth annual fundraiser throughout the entire month of October.  Lots of Socks is a program where socks are given to needy children in Greene County.  There was a total of 1,232 items collected from last year’s campaign, which was distributed by New Opportunities of Greene County.  Diapers and pull-ups will also be accepted.  Monetary donations will help to supplement different sizes of socks as needed.

RSVP 55+ is the largest volunteer network in the country for adults ages 55 and older.  Greene County’s organization helps with the Grocery Assistance Program, provides in-home visits and respite services at Regency Park Nursing and are mentors in the Kids With A Connection program with Greene County Extension.

Sock donations can be made at any church, library or bank in Greene County and monetary donations can be made through your church, with payment earmarked for Lots of Socks.
