The Greene County Board of Supervisors met yesterday in regular session.
After three different motions, the Board passed a 3-2 vote to give elected county officials a two percent raise and the Supervisors a zero percent raise for the 2017 fiscal year. Board Chair John Muir says he wasn’t surprised that it took them three motions before the final one passed.
“That just shows that we all have our own opinion and look at things from different angles. All those motions were close, there was just little tweakings with all of them. No, I think that’s good (and) that shows that there is a balance on the Board of how we view things. We work together to come to some kind of solution.”
The Board then approved the Sheriff’s quarterly report and adopted the next set of privacy policies for the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act.
The Board also heard a report from Emergency Management Coordinator Dennis Morlan and the ambulance budget for the 2017 fiscal year. The Board did approve the second payment to purchase a new ambulance in the next fiscal year.
County Engineer Wade Weiss told the Board that a bid of $639,000 for the pavement project by Bauer Built Manufacturing in Paton was lower than the estimated cost of $809,000.
