As we’ve reported, Ora Stevens officially took over as Greene County Chamber Board President on March 1st.
He co-owns Homestead Coffee and Bakery and became the new owner of Uptown Cafe on January 1st. Both of his businesses are Chamber members. He joined the Chamber Board six months ago and is the co-chair of the business improvement committee. Being new to the leadership role as president, Stevens says he is happy to utilize a resource like past-president Omega Sang.
“The fortunate thing that I have going for me is I have her that I can use as a mentor and continuing to be there, by my side, and support me and show me the ropes and get things started on a roll (and) kind of get my feet wet. So Omega (Sang) is going to be awesome in helping me do that.”
He describes one goal that he would like to accomplish as president.
“One of the things that I would really like to see taking over (as president) is business involvement and actually finding out what the business owners need to help them be successful (and) explaining the benefits of being involved in the Chamber.”
One way that Chamber members can help Stevens achieve that goal is coming to their monthly board meetings, which are held on the first Wednesday of every month at 4pm at the Chamber office.
