The ADM/Van Meter Lady Tiger soccer is officially state bound! The 4th ranked Lady Tigers welcomed in Norwalk for regional final action last night at Island Park in Adel.

The Tigers were looking to avenge last years regional final loss as they squared off against the Warriors. It took a little more time than regulation allowed for the Lady Tigers but they did manage to rid themselves of last year and take the long awaited regional crown.

The Warriors struck first and led at the half by the score of 1-0 off a deep shot from Norwalk sophomore Megan Roberts. The Lady Tigers would take some time to obtain their first goal and got a little help from the Norwalk defense as Chelsea Bright’s free kick in the 70th minute of action hit off a Norwalk defender and in for the goal and the 1-1 tie.

It took almost all of overtime to decide the victor but with 4 minutes left in overtime the Tigers were on the prowl as Sydney Bertman put in a nice cross to set up Izzy LaFollette for her third goal on the season and the game winner.

With the win the Lady Tigers will make it back to the hallowed grounds of the James Cownie Soccer Complex in Des Moines this Thursday. ADM at 19-1 will be drawing an earlier season rematch with Bishop-Heelan sitting at 14-4 on the season in their first round match up. The Lady Tigers defeated the Lady Crusaders in their first match up 2-1 back on April 23rd.

That game is scheduled to commence this Thursday beginning at 3:00 pm on field 6.
