A bizarre hail storm caused the cancellation of the Perry and Clarke softball game last night at the PAC. The game was moved to a 545 start and was tied 1-1 after two innings. At 6:15 pm, in the bottom of the 2nd inning, the game was suspended due to a lightning strike in the area. The game resumed shortly before 7:00 as Perry tied the game on a Maddy Jans RBI groundball. However, in the top of the third, heavy rain along with a steady pouring of pebble sized hail started to fall preventing the field crew from getting the tarp on and thus forcing the cancellation of the game.
Perry will take their 14-9 record on the road tonight to battle Carroll in a 7:15 varsity game.
