Greene County lost its high school football season opening contest on Aug. 26 to Kuemper Catholic in Carroll 34-0, but the Rams did show the ability to run the ball. Running backs coach Ronnie Pollock told Raccoon Valley Radio, “On the varsity level, I think we have four running backs that could be good, and the top two could be really good!”

Senior Trey Tucker ran for 90 yards and averaged 5.7 yards per carry while junior Jake Berns added 85 yards on the ground and averaged 7.4 yards each time he carried the ball.

The Rams hope to get better balance between running and throwing when they travel to Harlan on Friday night. Greene County had just 23 yards in the air, all in the second half vs. Kuemper Catholic.

The Cyclones are also 0-1 after losing in Council Bluffs to Lewis Central by a 45-13 final.
