Winterset scored a season high 88 points, 29 more than their average entering the night, and the Huskies were 88-81 winners in non-conference boys’ basketball in Jefferson on Monday night on KG98 and www.raccoonvalleyradio.com over Greene County. The Rams led 41-36 at intermission, but were out scored 52-40 in the second half. The 81 points were the most the Rams have scored in a loss this season and they fell to 9-5 overall. Winterset is 5-8 and snapped their three-game losing streak while stopped Greene County’s three game winning streak.

It was a big scoring night for the top four scorers entering the game. Sophomore Casey Kleemeier had 25 and freshman Easton Darling 21 for Winterset. Greene County senior Trey Tucker had 25 and sophomore Trey Hinote 23. The Huskies had five players reach double figures in points while junior Wade Adcock was the only other Ram to do so with 15.

The Huskies made eight three-point goals to nine for the Rams. Greene County shot 56% from the field to 55% for Winterset. The Huskies had a slight advantage at the foul line going 20 of 25 while the Rams were 18 of 24.

The Rams were to have played a Heart of Iowa Activities Conference girl/boy doubleheader tonight in Des Moines vs. Saydel, but due to the weather those games have been postponed.
