The Panorama Panther track teams were looking to follow up a successful first week of the outdoor season with another starting Tuesday night with the Kip Janvrin Invitational in Panora.
As a team the Lady Panthers took home second place behind 125.50 points bested only by fellow Guthrie County Rival ACGC. The Panther boys team landed in the fourth spot out of 7 teams just behind third place ACGC with 97 team points.
The Lady Panthers had number of performances worthy of a second place finish behind 19 top five finishes on the day. Of those top five finishes, six were of the first place variety. Devyn Kemble had two of those first place finishes taking first in both the 400 meter dash and 400 meter hurdles. Morgan Johnk took the crown in the 100 meter hurdles while Kassidy Bremer joined the first place club taking the top spot in the long jump. Lydia Knapp ended off the first place individual performances with a first place finish in the discuss throw. Panorama’s 800 sprint medley team took home the first place crown by almost a full three seconds.
For the Panther boys they had a total of 16 top five finishes on the afternoon which were highlighted by two first place finishes. Spencer Hunt took the top honors in the wheelchair 200 meter dash while freshmen Luke South took home first prize in the 110 meter hurdles.
The next event on the docket for the Panthers comes today heading to Guthrie Center for a 5:00 pm meet.
