Today marks day two at the Dallas County Fair, and there is a full slate of events throughout the day at the fairgrounds in Adel.

The day kicks off at 8 a.m. with the 4-H and FFA Sheep Show in the show ring. From 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. Dallas County Hospital will be hosting the Amazing Public Health Race, which starts near the gazebo. Other events taking place today include: the Rubber Chicken Show at 11 a.m., 2 p.m., and 7 p.m.; Mr. Nick the balloon artist from noon – 6 p.m.; Jim Walling’s Pony Rides from noon until dark; the bubble gum and pie eating contests from 3-4 p.m.; and the BBQ dinner for Dallas County 4-H exhibitors and families at 5:30 p.m.

In addition to the sheep show in the morning, there will also be the goat show at 1 p.m., and the bucket and bottle calf show at 2 p.m. The 4-H static exhibits are also available to view all day, as is the Dallas County Little Critter Corner. There will also be a carnival, caricatures, Clover Kids activities, and musical performances throughout the day.

The main event is the junior rodeo and mutton busting event at the south arena. Cost is $10 for adults and $7 for kids age 6-12. After the main event, there will be music provided by RW Smith.
