Last week, people showed up in droves for the 2017 Dallas County Fair, and Raccoon Valley Radio was on hand to help them navigate the festivities.

The new Big Red Radio was broadcasting live each day from the fairgrounds in Adel, playing music, relaying important information, and giving live fair results. Several people took the time to stop by the Big Red Radio to talk on-air about fair activities. They included: representatives from Dallas County Public Health while they were hosting the Amazing Public Health Race; the a capella group “Blend” who gave a special live performance; and even Fair Queen Emily Wilkerson, who will be competing for the title of Iowa State Fair Queen in August.

There were also several 4-H and FFA shows from Wednesday through Sunday, with kids from all around Dallas County participating in a friendly competition for the right to go to the state fair. For a list of results and pictures from the week, find our fair coverage at RaccoonValleyRadio.com.
