The Bouton Fire Department responded Saturday evening to a report of a vehicle on fire.

At 5:38 p.m., the Dallas County Sheriff’s dispatch was alerted to the incident. The vehicle was at the Ampride gas station near the intersection of highways 169 and 141, when it caught fire. The Dallas County Sheriff’s Office reported that the vehicle was initially near the gas pumps, however those at the scene were able to move the vehicle far enough away for it not to pose a threat. Additionally, there was no one inside the vehicle when it caught fire, and there were no injuries reported. The Bouton Fire Department was able to extinguish the fire quickly.

The cause of the fire is currently unknown, but firefighters said it didn’t appear suspicious in nature. Raccoon Valley Radio will bring you more information as it becomes official.
