shopwithacopThis Saturday, the Greene County Peace Officers Association is once again hosting Shop with a Cop.

This year, law enforcement will help 14 Greene County youth shop for Christmas presents for their family members and themselves at various local businesses. Everyone will then head to the Presbyterian Church to wrap presents and enjoy a free lunch. Jefferson Police Chief Mark Clouse says the donations continue to be overwhelming for the Shop with a Cop program.

“Big thrill of that for the kids is to ride in a law enforcement vehicle, while they’re doing their shopping, and we only have so many of those in the county. So that kind of hinders us as to how many kids we can do each year. Hopefully in the future we can figure out ways to expand that. But for now we’re just so thankful for the generosity of the community.”

Shop with a Cop started in Greene County in 2015.
