The Dallas County Hospital Foundation is about to wrap up their holiday basket silent auction, so anyone wanting to bid will need to act fast.
The auction, which began on November 17th and will end December 11th, features an assortment of baskets created by hospital employees and board members. The baskets were made during their yearly employee giving campaign, which in the past has featured items such as wreaths and stockings for their silent auction. They will be on display at the hospital from now until the end of the auction for people to look at and bid on.
All the proceeds from the auction will go toward the Dallas County Hospital Foundation, which Foundation Manager Matt Crooks says provides funding for everything from equipment purchases to a yearly scholarship for students going into the medical field. “It’s a great organization to be a part of, because we can give back to both our community through grant opportunities, and then we can also provide our employees with top of the line equipment if needed. And then with our scholarships too, that’s just another benefit that we can give back and reach every aspect of our county. Because it’s not just the Perry and surrounding areas, it could be any school district that touches Dallas County. Those individuals can apply for that scholarship.”
In addition to bidding on baskets, you can also vote on which one you like best, either at the hospital or on their Facebook page. For more information, contact Crooks at 515-465-7563.
