Three inmates face additional charges following a fight in the Greene County Jail.

Sheriff Jack Williams tells Raccoon Valley Radio just before 1pm Thursday, a fight took place in the dayroom of the jail facility of the law enforcement center. The fight was between 18-year-old Jesus Zuniga of Jefferson and 27-year-old Dray Rivera of Jefferson. A third inmate, 19-year-old Zachery Waters of Paton, tried to cover up one of the security cameras while the fight was taking place.

Williams notes that inmates are allowed time each day to spend in the dayroom and there are multiple cameras for the room. No one was injured in the incident and one jailer, two deputies, and a Jefferson Police Officer intervened and stopped the fight. Due to the altercation, Rivera was transported to the Carroll County Jail.

Rivera and Zuniga were charged with disorderly conduct and Waters was charged with interference with official acts. Williams adds that it’s been over a year since a fight has happened to the level that was experienced on Thursday.
