Dodge Michael Perrigo of Redfield filed for the nomination on Wednesday. The 22-year-old operates a body shop and farm north of Redfield. Coming from a multigenerational farm family, Perrigo tells Raccoon Valley Radio that he is displeased with the current representatives in the Iowa House and is trying to make a difference.

Sorensen officially filed for the office on Friday, March 9th. Both submitted the minimum 50 required signatures to get their name on the ballot for the June primaries. Warren Varley remains unopposed for the Democratic nomination and there are no Libertarian candidates. The office became open after incumbent Clel Baudler announced his retirement earlier this year.
