No one was injured in a house fire Friday afternoon in Woodward, but the building was a total loss.

Just after 3 p.m., emergency crews were called to 208 East 1st Street in Woodward. Sources say when the Woodward Fire Department arrived, the house was already engulfed in flames. The Perry, Bouton, Granger, Madrid, and Odgen fire departments assisted at the scene. They were able to extinguish the fire in around 30 minutes, and kept it from spreading to nearby structures. The house was owned by Daniel Harless, and he was able to escape unharmed, along with his two dogs, who reportedly alerted him to the fire.

The cause is currently under investigation, and it’s believed the fire started in the dining room. The Woodward Police Department, Dallas County Sheriff’s Office, and Dallas County Emergency Medical Services also responded to the incident.
