The annual Greene County Ram Relays coed track & field meet is scheduled to start at 5 p.m. Monday at Linduska Field in Jefferson. Tuesday, April 17 is the tentative make up date should weather be an issue on Monday. The Greene County girls and boys clearly both had their best week of the competitive season last week. The girls were first and second in their two meets, while the boys were second and then eighth among 16 teams in a very competitive second meet of the week.

Activities Director Mitch Moore talks about that success. “The neat part for me is, as a coaching staff with Coach Merk (girls) and Coach Morton (boys) we got together and mapped out our season. We said early is when we’re going to work them really hard, so they will be fatigued a little bit at the beginning. As they get through that fatigue phase, they’ll start to embrace the fact they’re getting stronger and they’re going to work through workouts a little harder. Really, this week it’s kind of come to fruition. We’ve had our best point totals of the season, we’ve had multiple PR’s (Personal Records) broken, and our guys are still coming to morning workouts. We’re getting stronger in the weight room. Our plan and our process we planned for the track season is working out as we hoped it would at this point of the season, so that’s exciting!”
