As Jefferson residents and business owners begin to clean up following Friday night’s storm, City officials are helping out.

Public Works Director Dave Morlan says they have roll-off dumpsters set up in the neighborhoods that were most affected by the 70-miles-per-hour straight line wind storm. He encourages those residents to put any debris that may be in their yards into the dumpsters. Morlan points out, any items that don’t get deposited there can be placed at the curbside, and sanitation crews will be by this week to pick them up.

Morlan adds that Scranton Manufacturing employees have also agreed to help the clean up effort, and will assist with using a garbage truck from the City at least for today.
