Tomorrow is the last day of regular classes for the seniors at West Central Valley Community Schools. Soon-to-be graduates Grace Dupuy, Billy Larsen, and Brock Wolfe will spend their final day as high schoolers at Drake Stadium in Des Moines competing in the 2018 Iowa High School Track and Field Meet. West Central Valley head boys track coach Eric Addy was a guest on Monday’s Karl Chevrolet of Stuart and spoke about his seniors final day of class. “Their last day of school is (tomorrow),” Addy said, “(They’ll) get out of school, they’ll essentially get their papers all signed off on, and then they get to go compete at the state (track and field) meet, which is going to be pretty exciting.”

Wolfe advanced to state as an at-large bid in the Class 2A boys long jump and will compete at 2 p.m. tomorrow afternoon. Dupuy, the Van Meter district runner-up in the shot put throw, will compete at 2 p.m. as well. Larsen is idle Thursday as he awaits the 400-meter hurdles event Friday at 5 p.m. and the preliminary race of the 4×400 meter relay Friday at 7:40 p.m. Listen to the Raccoon Valley Radio Network for area results from the 2018 Iowa State Track and Field Meet starting tomorrow and running through Saturday afternoon.
