Heavy rains Tuesday afternoon in Carroll washed out the Raccoon River Conference opener for the Adel-Desoto-Minburn Tigers baseball team (3-0). The Raccoon Valley Radio Network traveled by bus with ADM’s baseball squad to Merchant Park in Carroll for the first of two league games between the Tigers. Upon arriving in the Carroll city limits, the bus encountered heavy rains and straight line winds. After a 20 minute meeting with both coaches and the rain still falling, the game was postponed due to weather. ADM head baseball coach Jason Book says a makeup date is being discussed between the districts at this time. Weather permitting, the ADM baseball team will open their Raccoon River Conference season tonight on the road against the Boone Toreadors. First pitch of the varsity contest is set for 7:30 p.m. from Boone High School.
