The Perry Jayettes committed five errors Monday night and Carlisle took full advantage defeating the Jayettes 10-5 in Raccoon River Conference action. Carlisle jumped out to a five run lead in the second inning and added single tallies in both the third and fourth frames. Perry put up a fight late scoring four times in the top of the 7th inning. Alyssa Kruger pitched well despite the shaky defense behind her. The senior held the Cats to eight hits and 2 walks and four earned runs over 6 full innings. She finished with two strikeouts.
Offensively, Johanna Diw led the way going 3-4, and coming up a homerun shy of hitting for the cycle. She finished with 2 RBI’s. Gabby West added 2 hits and a RBI while Kruger clubbed a pair of hits and RBI as well. Grace Stewart had her best offensive game finishing with 2 hits and 2 runs scored.
Perry falls to 1-6 on the season and will host Greene County tonight in a 7:00 varsity start. Shawn Kenney will have the game on KDLS and raccoonvalleyradio.com.
