Greene County’s first year high school boys’ soccer program had two players receive postseason honors. Head Coach Carl Behne told Raccoon Valley Radio senior foreign exchange student Leo Marques from Brazil was named to the Iowa High School Soccer Coaches Association All-State All-Star team, which includes players from all three classes. Marques was named one of two starting forwards in June 16 East-West All-Star Series, but the coach said Saturday is the day he flies back to Brazil and won’t be able to take part. “He was extremely honored to be recognized and named to this team, and heartbroken that he will not be able to play one final game here in the United States before he leaves to go home and see his family.”

Marques was also named first team Heart of Iowa Activities Conference. Sophomore Junior Gutierrez was named second team all-conference.
