Senior Grace Stewart put on a show in front of the entire PGSA group of players Tuesday as the Jayettes cruised by Gilbert 12-2 in non conference softball action. Stewart finished the night with 5 RBI’s including a key two-run single in what turned out to be a six run 3rd inning. She added a RBI single, a bases loaded walk and a RBI ground ball. Sidney Vancil made a strong return to the lineup after missing all four games in Woodward. She finished with three hits and two stolen bases. Adriana Eastman scored a pair of runs while Jayna Kenney scored three runs and added a 2-run double. Peyton Tunick ripped a triple and added a sacrifice fly.
Prior to the game, all of the youth softball players from the Perry Girls Softball Association were recognized and enjoyed a chance to run on to the field with a varsity starter.
Perry improves to 5-9 on the season and will host ADM in a rare varsity doubleheader tonight. The first game begins at 5:30 and can be heard on KDLS with Shawn Kenney. The second game begins at 7:15 and can be heard on K 107.9 with Nate Gonner.
