The National Weather Service is estimating another one to two-inches of rainfall through Wednesday evening for Greene, Dallas and Guthrie counties. With more rainfall on the way, the National Weather Service has issued a river flood warning for Greene and Dallas counties. The warning will begin in the overnight tonight and will last through Saturday. The primary area of concern is along the North Raccoon River near Perry, from the Greene and Dallas County line to Adel. While the river hasn’t reached the flood stage of 15-feet yet, officials believe the river will continue to rise and be above flood stage by Wednesday morning. The impacted areas include: 125th Trail north of Dawson and west of County Road P-46, along with portions of Highway 169 north of Adel and near the Dallas County Fairgrounds.

The National Weather Service anticipates other areas of flash flooding and there may be water over the roadways locally. There could also be potential for isolated thunderstorms with large hail and damaging winds.
