A heat advisory will be in effect for parts of the Raccoon Valley Radio listening area today.

According to the National Weather Service, a heat advisory will be in effect for Dallas and Guthrie counties from 1pm Thursday through 8pm Friday. Greene County will also be under a heat advisory from 11am to 8pm Friday. A heat advisory means that temperatures could range between 90 and 95-degrees, with heat indexes ranging between 100 and 105-degrees. Increased humidity Thursday and Friday coupled with high wind gusts on Friday may contribute to increased dehydration.
