The end of the regular season saw the Adel-Desoto-Minburn Tigers softball team end a long winning streak last night. The Raccoon Valley Radio Network provided live play by play coverage on the KKRF2 stream of raccoonvalleyradio.com as the Tigers ended Carlisle’s 23 game winning streak with a 3-2 road victory against the Wildcats. The game was a makeup from June 6 and picked up in the top of the third inning and a scoreless tie. ADM plated single runs in the third, fourth and fifth innings to build a 3-0 lead. Carlisle countered with a two-run bottom of the fifth to cut the Tiger lead to one. ADM retired three of the last four Carlisle batters by fly outs, including a critical third out in the bottom of the sixth inning from freshman Aniston Smith that stranded two runners in scoring position. The victory improves ADM’s overall record to 31-7. The Tigers have the next three days off and host the winner of Thursday’s Class 4A Region 3 quarterfinal game between Perry and Carroll on Saturday evening.
