The 2018 Dallas County Fair is less than a week away, and the Fair Board is ready to welcome attendees from all around to the fairgrounds in Adel.

The fair runs from Wednesday, July 11th through Sunday, July 15th. There will be activities including livestock shows, concerts, rodeos, circle track racing, rides, and lots of food. Dallas County ISU Extension and Outreach Director Jeff Jackson says there’s something exciting going on every day, such as Kids Day on Thursday, or Share the Fun Day on Friday. Jackson adds, the County Fair is like a smaller version of the Iowa State Fair, but with a few important differences.

“The beauty is, it’s free! It’s a free fair, so come on out, check it out. Parking is free, the fair is free, walk on in (and) get yourself that funnel cake or that corndog. Enjoy that food, enjoy the atmosphere, and feel free to head home any time. It is smaller than the State Fair, obviously, but it’s not one of your really small town fairs either. There’s so much to do that it keeps you busy for a good day, day-and-a-half even!”

The Raccoon Valley Radio Big Red Radio will be at the Dallas County Fair each day during the week. We will be broadcasting live, playing music by the gazebo, and relaying important information and updates. We will also bring live results from each day of the fair.
