The Class 4A regional softball tournament begins today for several area schools, but the Adel-Desoto-Minburn Tigers aren’t one of them. The Tigers and the Norwalk Warriors are the two teams in the Class 4A Region 3 bracket who’ll sit idle tonight awaiting their postseason opener this weekend. The 31-win Tigers will host the winner of today’s quarterfinal matchup between the Carroll Tigers and the Perry Bluejays at 7 p.m. Saturday. ADM handed both squads a pair of losses during the Raccoon River Conference regular season. The Tigers swept a league doubleheader in Perry on June 13, outscoring the Jayettes 13-3 in the pair of games. ADM outscored Carroll in their two games, 16-1, but twelve of the runs were plated during their initial contest on May 23. Perry and Carroll will try to avoid bringing a losing streak with them into the offseason. The Tigers have lost their last three regular season while the Jayettes dropped their previous four games before the playoffs began. Catch Saturday’s semifinal game for the ADM Tiger softball team on the Raccoon Valley Radio Network’s True Country K 107.9. The Veteran Powersports and Equipment Pregame Show starts our coverage around 6:30 p.m. from Adel.
