Wet grounds in Lytton prompted South Central Calhoun (Lake City) school officials to cancel tonight scheduled JV/varsity baseball doubleheader with Greene County. About 12:30 p.m. today the Greene County Activities Department notified Raccoon Valley Radio that the JV/varsity action was cancelled and won’t be made up due to water standing on the field in Lytton.

All that remains on the Rams’ regular season schedule are two Heart of Iowa Activities Conference games with league leader North Polk. The Rams host the Comets tomorrow (Friday) at Allensworth Field in Jefferson on KG98 and streamed on www.raccoonvalleyradio.com with coverage around 7 p.m. and first pitch set for 7:30 p.m. Greene County then plays a make up game vs. NP on Monday, July 9 in Alleman to wrap up the regular season.

The postseason for Coach John Hupp’s Rams starts at 5 p.m. on Friday, July 13 vs. Glenwood at Winterset in the first round of Class 3A District 16 play. Air time on July 13 is 4:30 p.m. on KG98 and streamed on www.raccoonvalleyradio.com.
