Don’t forget, tomorrow the Adel Partners Chamber of Commerce will be hosting a special celebration to honor the 100th birthday of Nile Kinnick.

The Adel native and Heisman Trophy winner at the University of Iowa will be honored with a special birthday party co-sponsored by Fry Fest, and everyone is invited. Following a private ribbon-cutting ceremony for the Nile Kinnick Museum in Adel, the public festivities will start at 11 a.m. tomorrow. Activities will be centered around the Adel Pavilion and Stage on the corner of 10th Street and Main. Herky, the Iowa Hawkeyes mascot, will be in attendance to meet with kids and take pictures. There will also be a signing and discussion of the book “Nile” with author Tom Lidd, as well as a preview of the film by Joe Heath that is based on the book.

Additionally, there will be free birthday cake for all. There is no cost to take part in any of the day’s events.
