Today marks the opening day of the Iowa High School baseball postseason tournament for Class 1A and 2A squads. The West Central Valley Wildcats are one of the teams starting their playoff run this evening when they travel to Missouri Valley to face the Logan-Magnolia Panthers in the first game of a postseason doubleheader in Class 2A District 16. The Wildcats closed the regular season with a record of 11 wins and 14 losses, dropping six of their final nine contests. The Panthers posted a mark of 14-13, winning Thursday’s regular-season finale over Westwood, 8-3, in Sloan. West Central Valley and Logan-Magnolia start a playoff doubleheader tonight with first pitch taking place around 5 p.m. from Missouri Valley High School.
