Friday marks the start of the postseason tournament for the Adel-Desoto-Minburn Tigers baseball team. The Tigers have two playoff primers scheduled early this week, including a nonconference home game tonight against the Creston Panthers. ADM had their recent four-game overall winning streak snapped Friday night in Carlisle, falling to the Wildcats, 12-3. ADM head baseball coach Jason Book tells Raccoon Valley Radio that Friday’s result’s a bit misleading. “The scoreboard showed they put it to us, but it was a tight game through about four or five innings,” Book said, “(The game) got away from us in the end but a really good effort, pitching performances were really good.”

ADM and Carlisle were tied at three after four innings. Carlisle broke the game open with a five-run fifth inning and a four-run sixth. ADM brings an 11-15 record into tonight’s nonconference game against the Creston Panthers, posting an 8-21 overall mark this summer. Varsity first pitch takes place around 7:30 p.m. tonight in Adel.
