Pella put up a nine spot in the top of the first inning and never looked back as the Little Dutch defeated Perry 17-5 in five innings. Pella roared out to a 14-0 lead after the first two innings. The Little Dutch connected for three homeruns and added six doubles as part of the 16 hit explosion. Avery Van Zee belted a pair of solo homeruns including a solo shot to start the game. Ryan Mace and Noah Van Vark added 4 RBI’s each. Perry extended the game scoring four runs in the bottom of the fourth inning. Avery Meister delivered a 2-run double, while Kaleb Olejniczak added a RBI triple.
It was a tough night for Perry pitching with Keeghan West taking the loss after giving up five earned runs in his one inning of work. Aaron Lockwood pitched the second inning while Meister finished the game.
Perry falls to 8-11 and will wrap up the season Wednesday at home against Winterset. It will be senior night and Shawn Kenney will have the play by play starting at 7 on KDLS.
