The Dallas County Fair continues tomorrow, which Dallas County Extension Director Jeff Jackson says has been dubbed “Share the Fun” Day.

Jackson says there’s two parts of the day’s activities, both of which showcase the skills of the kids at the fair. “So ‘Share the Fun’ is kind of like your talent show for all of our 4-H youth, and even some of our Clover Kids get to experience the ‘Share the Fun.’ Maybe doing a song and dance, they’ll do a video, maybe they’ll just do a fun little skit. So you really want to be out there, it’s loads of fun for that.”

Also included in the day is the “Working Exhibits.” Jackson says the entries range from take-home projects like barometers, to things they may have found on Pinterest. “These students will actually get to teach others how to make that, the science behind it. Maybe it’s STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) related, maybe it’s even agriculture related. And so they’re called ‘Working Exhibits,’ and there’ll actually be students there at certain time slots, working through and showing how those exhibits work!”

Other activities throughout the day include: livestock shows and exhibitions; wood carving demonstrations with Josh Hollon; Herb’s Comedy Show; America’s Country Darlin’s vocal group; BINGO at the Varied Industries Building; and the Farm Bureau Membership Appreciation Picnic. The day will conclude with Bull Riding and Barrel Racing in the South Arena. Additionally, the Raccoon Valley Radio Big Red Radio will continue its presence at the fair tomorrow and through Sunday. We will broadcast live, play music by the gazebo, and provide public address announcements.
